How to Use Q3D Scan Free Mode

Operating in Q3D Scan Free

Q3D Scan Free mode allows users to use the Q3D Scan software indefinitely without purchasing a subscription. Please note that scans created in Free mode are saved in the .dpx file format, which cannot be converted to any other file type. This format is view-only within the free version of Q3D Scan. EVEN IF YOU LATER PURCHASE A PRO OR PRIME LICENSE, YOU CANNOT CONVERT A .DPX SCAN INTO A FULL-CAPABILITY .DP SCAN.

Q3D Scan Free requires no special registration. Simply download the Q3D Scan software on your chosen platform and begin using it without entering any key. In terms of scanning capability, Free mode provides nearly all the functionality available in paid versions, with some restrictions on distance measurements and photos per scene.

If you have not already done so, Free mode allows you to activate a complimentary 7-day Trial of Q3D Scan Prime. This grants access to the full Q3D Scan Prime feature set, including the ability to create .dp files and export to additional file formats. HOWEVER, once the trial period expires, Q3D Scan will revert to Free mode and the limitations described above will apply again.

A license can be purchased and entered into Q3D Scan to exit Free mode. As noted above, scans created in Free mode cannot be converted to other formats even after a subscription is purchased. Reach out to Q3D Sensing Support if you have 1 or 2 important scans — they may be able to assist you.
